Skanderborg Museum is situated scenically in the old part of the town close to Skanderborg Slotsbanke (Castle Mound) and it has a large park-like garden, which extends down to Lille Sø (Lake).
The museum and its surroundings provide visitors with a vivid picture of the unique history of the town, castle and the neighbourhood. It is important that the whole family can acquire knowledge and experience through a visit to the museum.

Entrance to the museum is handicap friendly after the complete renovation carried out in 2000 -2001. Entrance to the museum garden is free and during the summer, there are tables and benches available. There is a museum shop in the entrance and a small self-service café.
